and she’s off

hi all!

Today is my 19th day in Leuven, Belgium.

I am writing this as I sit on my bed in our new room. We have to move rooms at the college (it’s a hotel more realistically) and this is room 2 for us. We have wifi from here, but not as cool of a view. Win some, lose most (-Breana Hauser)

We just returned from 5 days in Rotterdam and Amsterdam about 2 hours ago. It was an absolutely packed long weekend, during which I sustained a few blisters - this is new! - a new high daily step count: 30,000; and an overwhelming love for cute little canals. Getting off the train in Leuven tonight was comparable to returning home from a road trip. The car is shut off in the dark driveway, you get out and the air smells good and a breeze is moving, and your dog runs to you. It was like that, except we had to walk 25 minutes with our overstuffed weekend bags back to our residence. Liv and I stopped for a typical Belgian dinner: domino’s pizza. It was every bit healing as possible.

It feels like I have been here for so long already. It’s quickly becoming a home away from home, and I am so grateful for it.

More to come regarding our first few trips, pickpockets, sewer smelling hostels, European night life, what I’ve eaten, and of course architecture and fashion.

I hope you return for more! Thanks for reading!

Best,

Grace
